No more naps for Nathan at almost 3.5 years old.

Dear Nathan,
We are now on a full week of no naps in the afternoons. I think you are ready to drop, because you are actually pretty happy even in the evenings and then when it is bed time, you end up falling asleep pretty quickly. So, for the hour and half of time when Hannah is asleep, you do a variety of things. Some days, you listen to audio books. You've gone through 3 Junie B. Jones books and will be able to sit through a whole book. What I'm surprised at is that you are able to listen to it without having to look at pictures.
One day, we sat down to watch a movie with no bad guys. Up. Immediately, you started to cry. That didn't last long. So we turned off the movie and played some games instead.

You've been wanting to do some homework like your older neighbor friends. So, I printed you some alphabet tracing sheets as well as some mazes and you happily work on those for awhile as I get some work done. Oh, you also like seek and find pictures.
Yesterday, we made some lasagna. While I browned the meat and cooked the sauce, you did a great job showing Hannah how to chop up the mushrooms into small pieces.
Then, Hannah put all the mushrooms back in the container, (and then dumped them back out).
Then, Nathan I noticed that you used a knife to scoop the mushrooms up and with your other hand, hold on to the pile from the top to transfer the mushrooms from the cutting board into the container. I asked you where you learned to do that, and you replied, "I do it like you, Mommy!" *So proud [sniff]*
On Friday, we had a MOPS meeting at church and after getting some stuff done, I walked into this cute sight.
Then the little sisters wanted to join in.

On Saturday, before heading to a birthday party, we stopped by the Wildflower center to play. We built teepees,
 and a dog house,

 Dear Hannah,
You are now just getting so big. You love to climb up on stuff and you are starting to do more pretend play. In the picture below, you signed "sleep" and then crawled on top of the basket and laid down.
When Nathan is at soccer practice, you do a pretty good job of just staying on the sidelines and playing nicely. Sometimes you want to go out and do what the big kids are doing, but when you walk out, you get a bit timid, and then come scurrying back into the safety of my arms.
You love living on the edge. You love being thrown up in the air, spun around and around, climbing up onto high things, and coming down on slides, but your absolute favorite thing to do is still hanging out on the swings. Your favorite foods are still broccoli and after every meal, you sign ice cream and look at us with the most eager of expressions. We usually give in and give you a little spoonful and like your brother, just that little bit satisfies you.

Well, this week has gone pretty well. Enjoying this amazing weather. Until next week.

Love,
Mommy
