Spring 2023 Catch-Up Post

Dear Kiddos,
I didn't realize that the last post I made was back in February. It's been more hectic now that I'm a working mom and at the end of the day, I am just too exhausted to do anything. So, I'm going to use this summer break to make a few catch up posts. This post will be spring and the highlights here are that Hailey graduated pre-school and she lost her first tooth.

You guys made me bunny earrings for Easter. I woke up to these beauties by my night stand and I was super proud to wear them to church for our Easter festival.

Baseball season could've been a bit better, but the important thing is that Nathan has improved his game, moved up on the batting order and still loves the game. I'm super proud of the kids for sticking through 14 losses and 1 win this season.

I turned 40 years old during spring break, and since we took a Disney trip in February, I went to New York with Auntie Momo while Dad and Ama stayed to take care of you guys. When we got back to Texas, we went to the Renaissance Festival for the day. Your favorite show would probably be the Merlin show or the Daggers/Set it on Fire show.
We did a few of the human-powered rides.
And made some crafts. You guys brought your own money to buy whatever you wanted to. In the end, the girls chose to make sand art candles.
What is visiting the Renaissance Festival without getting turkey legs? Dad doesn't think it, but I digress.

The girls agreed to dress up. Nathan, you chose to go as a time traveler from the 2020's.
Another trip we took was to go to Llano. Ama had to renew her drivers' licence and that was the closest place that had appointments. We also took a side trip to visit Palmetto State Park and saw some pretty cool views there. The weather was perfect for a morning hike.

Gymnastics season also went well for Hannah. We attended a total of 4 out-of-town competitions and with each competition, Hannah's score improved for the most part. You have fallen in love with Gymnastics and will continue with the sport.

On Family Fitness night, ya'll got to see your artwork on display at school.

There were raffles, games, activities, and give-aways. I was at roller derby practice, so Daddy took you all to the event.

For the Easter service, ya'll joined the rest of the kids to perform with streamers on stage. I bet it was fun/scary to be in front of so many people.
Hailey, you lost your first tooth in April! We were eating dinner and you thought you at a bone, it turned out to be your tooth!
We also dyed Easter eggs at one point. It was nice not having to hover over you guys and for the most part, ya'll were able to mix and color the eggs without much help from me at all! Ya'll are growing up so fast [sniffle].
One day, Hailey, you wanted to paint with your feet. You had an idea and we made it happen!
For mother's day we had a tea at school and we had a good time eating muffins and drinking juice.

Hailey, you and Hannah have been very interested in watching the TV show, Bake Squad. Hailey, you usually can't eat macarons because of your almond allergy, but you really wanted to make some macarons that you could eat. We had some time one afternoon, so I had you design the flavors and we made a batch with pecan flour.

Hannah, you came home from school and you wanted to make your own too, so you created a butter beer flavored one. You made this batch completely by yourself!
In May, belt promotions happened. Hailey is now a solid yellow belt, Nathan is a 4th level red belt and Hannah is a 2nd level red belt.
At the end of May, Hailey graduated from pre-school. As you walked across the stage, you looked so happy and proud of this milestone.

Nathan had a wax museum presentation at school You were Steven F. Austin and recited your speech like 20 times. It was really cool seeing your friends after 2 years and seeing how much they have grown since 1st grade.
One day we went to San Marcos to watch Daddy fly. There was an aviation museum that we got to visit and we were even able to climb into some of the airplanes.

We also spent some time at the big playground in San Marcos and had some rolled ice-cream afterwards.
The kids also had an end-of year celebration at chinese school where each class had a little performance on stage. Hailey's class sang the equivalent of the alphabet song, Hannah's class sang a popular kids song and Nathan told some jokes.

School ended at the end of May and that will all be in another post.

Until next time,

Mommy
