Quick Update on Hailey's Heart

Just a few quick updates now that everyone is back in school. Hailey, you get to spend Wednesdays with me still, but you are attending half day pre-school 4 days a week. You absolutely love going to school and you've even fallen in love already (you told me yourself) "Mom, [in a very dreamy voice] I think I'm in love" This was day 2. 

We are currently dog-sitting Cooper, a super sweet dog who loves to play fetch. It's been fun to hear the pitter patter of paws on the wooden floor these days. He leaves in a few days and I will miss that little fellow. 

Hailey had a heart check up recently and we don't have great news. We don't have terrible news either, so I guess that is good. So it turns out that the membrane that the cardiologist saw last time is not causing the HCM, but instead it's the other way around. So, no surgery for now and since her condition has not gotten any worse, we will just keep monitoring Hailey. The plan is to also get everyone else in the immediate family screened as well. 

In our time together, we spend a lot of time doing all the things that you love: blowing bubbles; 

baking cakes;

making elderberry syrup and then 

making gummies out of them; 

and going on long hikes in the neighborhood. 

 Nathan and Hannah come home from school and it's just a whirlwind on most days until bedtime. Martial arts, gymnastics and (soon to be) 3 hour long baseball practices keep you guys busy, almost too busy. We'll give it a few weeks to see if it's just us needing to adjust, or if it really is a crazy schedule that needs to be pared down a bit.
