Eclipse, Trophies, Farms, Baseball, and Mini Golf

Dear Kiddos,
In April, Hailey, you competed in your first martial arts tournament. You performed your elements (a routine) and then participated a double elimination sparring tournament. I loved watching your tenacity as you focused on your opponent.

Baseball season is still going strong. Your team is actually doing pretty good this year and you have more wins than losses (compared to no wins from last year).
The great total eclipse also happened this month. Unfortunately, it was overcast when the totality happened, but at least we got to see some of the action before and after totality. It was forecasted to storm, so at least we got to see something! We met up with you guys at school to share this special moment together.

The weather has been amazing this month! With oak pollen levels falling and the temperature perfect, we have been going on lots of walks outside. The wildflowers have been stunning this year.

Baseball season still happening.

Hannah, you joined choir this year and you guys had your concert. The concert was amazing. You all sounded so sweet and you even had a short solo during the Taylor Swift Song.

I was also finally able to go with you guys to family fun and fitness night. It was a super fun event put on by the school.
One weekend AMD had their family spring festival. We had lunch and played some mini-golf.
Fun family times!
Hailey, I got to go on a field trip with you to the farm. We saw goats, cows, snakes, and all sorts of reptiles there too. I haven't been able to go on a field trip and so after 2 rescheduled dates (due to rain) it was finally scheduled on a day when I didn't have to work!

 Until next month,

Love,
Mommy

Rodeos, Candy Salad, Mammoth Fossils, Renaissance Festivals, a Trip to the E.R. and more!

Dear Kiddos,
I am technically writing this post on the last day of school, but I have decided to group the posts by months so it is not too much information overload.

My birthday always falls during spring break, so my class celebrated my birthday early this year by gifting me a fun basket full of skate-related things.
Also on the day before spring break, Hailey, you had your kindergarten rodeo where you and your friends performed a bunch of super cute songs for the parents.
Baseball season is in full swing. We've been very fortunate to have super nice weather and really didn't have any games where it felt hot. In the picture below, Nathan, your team is scrimmaging a local private school team. You've gotten pretty good with batting. You are usually in the outfield or on 2nd base. This is your first season in 12U baseball. There are less teams and the vibe is super chill.
For spring break, we went up to Dallas to visit Auntie Momo. Daddy stayed home to work. Auntie Momo had fun things planned for you guys. We went to the library to see some cool animals that the Dallas Zoo brought to show everyone.

After 2 days, Auntie Momo sent me home. I ended up doing a bunch of yard work and cleaned the house really good. Dad and I also went to eat dinner one night.  You guys did all sorts of fun stuff like making candy salad...
Decorated cat houses to be added to Auntie momo's cat village and she introduced you guys to a show called Delicious in Dungeon.
On Sunday, we met up half way in Waco and had lunch and then we went to the Mammoth Monument.

Hailey, you are getting really good at changing my wheels. You take the time to adjust the nut so that it is perfectly tight.

March, in addition to oak season is also bluebonnet season and this year, with all the rain that we got, it did not disappoint!

Towards the end of spring break, Hannah had to go to the emergency room. Apparently, you were chasing a balloon upstairs, tripped over a ball and your foot hit a shelf in a very odd way that it chipped the wood, which sliced into your foot. I came home from taking Hailey to swim class and Nathan rushes out to tell me that Hannah is at the hospital. You could imagine how alarmed I was right at that moment. We had originally planned to go to the beach, right after we got home from swim lessons, but after 6 stitches, Hannah still really wanted to go so we packed everything up and we took another trip to the beach. This time, the weather was a bit warmer and we saw a bunch of seashells and little shelled creatures along the beach.

Turtle Village.

On the week before Easter, Nathan, you and I volunteered at our church's Easter carnival at the petting zoo. It was definitely a lot of fun. Hannah was supposed to volunteer too, but we decided that you needed to stay home and rest your foot.
The next day we had tickets to go to the Renaissance festival. Hannah, you were a champ and hobbled throughout the grounds on crutches. We took lots of breaks and I brought a wagon to pull you when you needed to rest. But we couldn't miss it because you love the renaissance festival so much!

On Easter, we got together with a few families from church and had lunch and then a Easter egg hunt.
Hannah took it easy.

Hailey decided to make the pinata a costume. You were quite entertaining.

It was super nice to be able to spend some time with friends. With days being so busy, I miss those times where we could just kick back and enjoy a meal and conversation with friends. I want to make that more of a priority this next school year.

Until next month,
Love,
Mommy
